New Interprotect primer/barrier coat, then Antifoul

After stripping the multiple layers of antifoul with scrapers, there were a few gouges to fix/fill/sand. Then we added 4 layers  (16 liters) of white Interprotect Primer. That hopefully keeps the underlying fiberglass dry and avoids any future osmosis trouble. Last time we stripped all antifoul, and re-did the barrier coat,  was 11 years ago, so this will hopefully last another decade too.

We did raise the waterline another inch, feathering the old barrier coat with the new primer, the stupid, always dirty, white stripe below the blue stripe will be gone.

Interprotect is an epoxy, and for best adhesion of the antifoul to the epoxy, one has to put on the antifoul while the epoxy is still 'green' = not completely cured. The Yacht-help guys all know that and worked quickly to add antifoul after the last coat of epoxy Interprotect.

Only blue was available...

We waited a few days to have several layers of antifoul cure before moving stands. Back in Mexico it happened to us that the weight of the boat in the stands shifted the not fully cured antifoul to a wrinkly mess. Since we use self-polishing antifoul, this evened out over time. Letting it cure for 2 days/coat seems to do the trick.

stands moved

That is 20 liters of hellish expensive bottom paint, A little bit of paint was left for launch day
