The splice of the spinnaker halyard failed.... Professionally made. OK, the line was old, but isn't a splice to be rated at higher breaking forces than the line itself? It will be halyard knots from now on, which we can cut off and tie a new one every so often.
The sail ended up in the water, entangled in the prop, it took hours to get it back on the boat. It has a few rips now.
