TC MAL has passed

This synoptic chart shows Tropical Cyclone MAL's closest approach to us in Vuda Marina.

Category vs wind speed
The "Category 3" is a bit of a hype. They classify cyclones differently here than the hurricanes in the northern hemisphere. 65 knots of wind would barely put it in the Category 1 for hurricanes. But here the wind-speed is averaged over ten minutes for cyclones, vs 1 minute for hurricanes. 10 minutes of 65 knots is certainly worse than 1  minute.

The center of TC MAL passed 100nm west of us, and the wind in the marina basin was limited to maybe 45knots in gusts. Boats on the hard, higher up, measured wind in the 50s.

Nothing bad happened in the marina, it was a good drill and exercise.
