 What is there to do on an atoll with just 2 rangers and a few boat crews?

 

 Highlight 1 was snorkeling. We didn't get to see any Manta rays at the 'Manta Ray cleaning station". But we will remember large groups of parrot fish, unafraid of us, coming right up to the mask.

 

The other highlight was a coconut crab & potluck dinner. Harry, the ranger, called on all the boats to come together on the beach, bring a dish to share, he would start a fire and cook some coconut crab.

While Harry catches and prepares the coconut crabs, he doesn't eat them himself.  

Later days were idled away in similar fashion, no more crabs, but beers and snacks on the beach. More snorkeling too, the "Granulated Starfish" was new to us.
