Tattoo?

Hans, Franz, Bill and Paul, as well as Karen, Mary, and Susan, all are getting a tattoo in these islands.

There is a tattoo school in Taiohae, and one can become a test subject for new tattoo artists. Or one can pay a bit more and have it done by more renowned local artists.

The patterns used here are certainly very intricate, most symbols have a meaning and make for a great story. It certainly looks better than what is typically done in the western world.

While looking out for patterns, we found this. We think this would look great (without the "TAHITI") on Dirk's leg.

Joking aside, this pattern came with a cloth baguette bag. How else would a person get a fresh baguette from the store to one's home?

We made a mistake though: We bought one baguette and none arrived on the boat. The bag could hold eight, we know better now.

Oh, on that stone wall: These are foundations, found often, are "communal or sacred places that serves religious and social purposes in Polynesian societies".

Today, they may just be used as an elevated base with concrete poured on top of it and a house on top of that.
