2nd shots

3 weeks after returning from the states vaccinated with our first shots, we had to return to the US by rental car to get our second shots. We had optimized location and timing to have 2nd shots 1 day apart and all in the Phoenix area. Rescheduling is easy now, Arizona has more than 50% of population vaccinated, all ages can come, and by now there is more vaccine than people to take it, in some locations.

The morning we wanted to leave we had fog.... the sea is colder than the air, humidity is creeping up from the tropics and that makes our fog here. Paul on "Sister Midnight" was supposed to bring us ashore, but one couldn't see the boat on the next mooring at the agreed time, 7:00 am. By 7:30 we were able to get ashore and start driving in off and on fog, it was better when the road veered away from the sea. Here is the fog receding at Playa Santispac in Conception bay:

Day one got us to San Felipe, our favorite spot 3h south of the border. Next morning we crossed into the US (~1h wait), got a couple of packages with parts from a UPS store, and continued to Phoenix. Silvie got her shot next day and felt well enough for a nice lunch in a Mexican Restaurant after all. That was the only place we found that has outside seating. People like air conditioning too much! A bit of shade and some wind going is good enough for us.

The day after Silvie was a bit sore, and Dirk got his shot in the morning. We immediately hit the road back to Mexico, (no wait time, no check!). We crossed early enough to reach San Felipe again by sunset, so we did. Last day driving was a chore and by the end of day Dirk had some fever. But it felt good to sleep on the boat again. All is well now
