So long, Long Island

Yes, we are still here (red circle). February has been seeing unusual strong and consistent easterly winds. There was no good time for us to head further East. This is changing now, and we are preparing / staging for our next leg with the ultimate goal to get to the DR (green circle). There are still several islands in between and depending on wind and mood we will stop somewhere.

Our stay here was most comfortable, there is a well stocked grocery, a couple of good bars, friendly and approachable locals and a small cruiser community who is eager to help and have all kind of info. This includes cruisers who have 'swallowed the hook' and bought/built houses on Long Island.

Weather was great (a bit windy but we are protected by the island), solar power kept up with our power consumption on most days.
