On Friday the 13th, we motor-sailed against typical Lake Erie 4x4 chop: 4 feet high, 4 feet apart in just 10-15 feet of wind against us. We reached the Dunkirk breakwater and anchored behind it. Then we heard a VHF radio call: "Traveling sailboat anchoring in Dunkirk Harbor, this is the Dunkirk Yacht Club". We answered, and we were offered the guest slip in the Yacht Club (plus showers, etc). We also got invited to the Friday Evening Happy Hour and got together with ~25 other Yacht Club members.
