Checking out of Reunion

We kept extending our rental car, visited many more valleys, places and the craters of Salazie, Mafate, and Cilaos.

But we wanted to put on new anti-fouling on the boat and we are loosing time: The travel-lift for the haul-out is still broken, maybe fixed in 2-3 weeks 4 weeks, maybe. Instead, maybe we find a place to haul out in South Africa.

We now seem to have a good weather window for heading to South Africa. At least for the first stretch, going South of Madagascar:

The Lows and Highs are passing South Africa every couple of days, with strong, nasty cold fronts in between. The further South we get, the stronger these fronts are. We are looking to sail thru a cold front rather close to Reunion, followed by a strong high to give us some consistency with winds from the SE and East. We seem to get what we want, early next week.

Customs is coming tomorrow (Saturday) to check us out, we can then leave Sat, Sun Mon or Tue, or decide differently and stay longer.
