Next morning, after a wee bit of breakfast, same thing. More rest, more tea.
In the night from Sunday to Monday the pain really hit and did not go away. When finally first daylight appeared, we woke up local friends Jean & John to drive us to the hospital. The examination started. All vitals were ok, the blood showed nothing wrong, but the urine showed an infection and residue from a kidney stone. So Dirk got admitted and with pain reducing iv. plus antibiotics he dozed over the day. An ultrasound exam in the evening showed a few more small stones waiting to make a surprise exit. Dirk slept reasonably well through the night.
By lunchtime on Monday, Dirk was allowed to leave, lacking any further symptoms. The hospital bill came to $526. We had to buy lots of medications to continue the treatment: another $410. Then there will be follow up ultra sounds....
