Kosrae

We finished formalities on Monday: 2 men from customs came aboard first, then we had to come ashore to meet 2 ladies from immigration. Everything is low key and friendly, sure there are some forms to be filled out.

We met Roger on "Hanoa", the only other sailboat in Lelu Harbor, when we arrived. On Tuesday, also "Luna" with Daniel on board arrived.

Mark and Maria came by, they built the Pacific Tree Lodge, a restaurant in the mangrove jungle, plus a few rooms to rent along the beach. They also operate dive and fishing excursions. They are cruiser friendly and help the cruisers to get anything they need. Maria is from Italy and the menu shows.

The social activities for this week are:
  • Tuesday: Pizza and a Movie
  • Thursday: Sunset Harbor Cruise
  • Friday: Cruisers Happy Hour
  • Saturday: Canoe races at day, Italian dinner at the lodge
  • Sunday: No activities! Church! Everybody is dressed nicely, men with long pants, shirt and tie. We are not supposed to do any work on the boat.

Besides these activities, there are a gzillion little things waiting to be done on the boat.
