San Juan, Puerto Rico

After the night at Isla Palomino, we sailed to San Juan today.

San Juan protected harbor entrance

We settled at the Club Nautico, booked a slip for a month. We don't intend to stay here for a month, but the monthly rate pays off for more than 9 days.

From here we will fly to Florida to tend our Greencard business. We will also rent a car here to see the sights and re-provision the boat

Being in San Juan also means we are now 60 Nm West of our land fall in St Thomas. We will have a hard beat  to make good against the easterly tradewinds and get back to that landfall position. Still, we think this is worth it, we are looking forward to see a real city and especially the Spanish old town.

One thing we haven't mentioned yet: On passage, Dirk woke up one night after his teeth had smacked together pretty hard, not sure, was it the boats motion or just a weird dream. After this event, he did complain about some toothache. Now a little corner piece of a lower front tooth broke off. We will have to find a dentist to fix this here.
