Portsmouth, VA, High Street Landing

We had a good night sleep at the "ruins" of Pungo Ferry Marina. The run to Norfolk has one lock and countless bridges, most of which have schedules to open. At times we had to slow down a bit, but timing was easy and we reached Portsmouth for lunch. The little harbor at High Street Landing is supposed to be daytime use only, we will see. If we get chased away, hospital point is an anchorage just around the corner. That would be more uncomfortable because of ship traffic. We'll go out to town tonight, so who will chase us away anyways.

Lunch was at the "Bier Garden" with "Schweizer Wurstsalad", "Bauernbratwuerste", "Spaetzle" und "Hefeweizen".

We took the ferry to Norfolk and had a quick run up and down of the old(er) town. For dinner we ferried back to Portsmouth, which we found to be quainter, nicer, less stylish.
