Silvie went up the mast.
We added a block at the masthead for the spinnaker halyard and rerouted the halyard itself.
Then we inspected the broken Windex (german: Verklicker), needs to be replaced, it was destroyed by heavy birds. Further inspection showed the windvane of the B&G masthead unit was broken too. Luckily, a dealer in Ft Lauderdale had the spare part in stock. "Just" need to drive to Ft Lauderdale and pick it up.
Since Dirk went to Ft Lauderdale anyways, he also took our spinnaker plus spinnacker sleeve to bring it to ATN for modification. We have never been really happy with our old sleeve, we have looked around at boat shows and found ATN's sleeve the best design. After inspection, Etienne from ATN suggested to reuse the fabric of the sock and the control line, but replace everything else. He will add a separate channel for the control line on the outside of the sleeve, new wire pennant with swivel, new Kevlar Hoop (mouth). Dirk will just have to drive to Ft Lauderdale again to pick it up tomorrow.
Also on order: Custom made scuba tank holders, made from STARBOARD, pick up tomorrow evening
At the end of the day, Silvie had to go up the mast again, to replace the Windex and B&G windvane.
